Pellevé Facial Resurfacing
Ready for younger looking skin? Our team is ready to assist you in achieving your skin goals. Pellevé is just one of many safe, innovative skin treatments The Med Spa at the Park provides for patients along the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas. Pellevé is a non-surgical radio frequency device designed to tighten the skin and smooth wrinkles. As we age, our own collagen and elastin fibers lose their connective ability causing elasticity and volume loss. This loss can begin as early as our 20’s! Pellevé’s radio frequency technology painlessly heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate your own natural collagen and elastin fibers.
What areas does Pellevé treat?
Primarily, Pellevé can effectively treat:
- Upper face (forehead, upper and lower eyelid)
- Lower face (mouth, cheeks, jowl area)
What to Expect
Pellevé treatments are provided by our medical aesthetician. Prior to treatment your skin will be cleansed of any oils, skin products, or makeup. An ultrasound gel-like product is applied toth treatment area. The Pellevé applicator is then used to massage in specific patterns based on the area being treated. As the applicator delivers radio frequency, the tissue is gradually heated and optimal temperature maintained. Most patients report feeling relaxed and find the treatment to be comparable to a warm stone massage. After the treatment is completed, patients may experience redness to the treated area, but can resume normal activities immediately. Patients should be aware of sun exposure and hydration.
How often should I receive a Pellevé treatment?
Ideally, Pellevé should be done as a series of treatments. For optimal results, patients should receive at least 4 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart followed by maintenance treatments. Though results can be seen within the first session, our bodies continue to age and therefore, maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-4 months.
Pelleve is a state-of-the-art non-invasive skin treatment that removes wrinkles and tightens sagging skin, giving the face and neck more definition. Patients who experience treatment with Pelleve in Mobile, Alabama, enjoy results that are comparable to a surgical facelift but without the frustrating and uncomfortable downtime.
The Pelleve Touch
Aging causes collagen protein fibers in the skin to gradually break down. This makes the skin lose its firmness and elasticity. As a result, the skin sags and develops wrinkles.
The Pelleve technique uses a handpiece to deliver radiofrequency energy waves that heat the skin’s deepest layers. The skin gets heated to a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. This triggers a reaction of healing, boosting the rate of collagen production and tissue regeneration. This in turn causes the skin to regain volume and look rejuvenated.
A Pelleve Treatment Session
Typically, the Pelleve session takes 15 minutes for treatment of the eye region. It takes half an hour for the face or approximately an hour for the neck and face.
During treatment, a gel is applied to the area to be treated. With this, the Pelleve device can be moved smoothly on the targeted areas of the skin. The skincare professional moves it over the patient’s face and neck. Four or five glides will be performed.
As treatment starts, the device is cool and gradually becomes warmer. There is no pain or discomfort felt, only a bit of gentle heat. Many have said that the treatment feels like a massage. No skin damage is caused in the process, and there is no need for anesthesia of any kind.
After treatment, a soothing serum is applied to the treated regions. Sunscreen with a proper SPF will likely be applied as well. Pelleve treatment allows a person to resume daily activities right after treatment. It’s also acceptable to apply normal skincare products and makeup.
Immediately after treatment, the skin may tighten due to the contraction of the collagen fibers. Over the months that follow treatment, a gradual but significant change in the skin’s surface will be noticeable as new collagen protein forms in the skin tissues at an increased rate.
The skin will look younger, and though results may show up gradually, they will last for several years. This is a massive draw for many who are seeking the results of a facelift without the hassle of surgery. Maintaining results is simple with the help of follow-up treatments once or twice a year.
- How Much Does Pelleve Cost?
The cost of a Pelleve session depends on the areas being treated. The price of this cutting-edge skin treatment option is determined by the medical practice you choose for your treatment, so feel free to compare prices between practices.
